How to transfer TLD domain names to and from Saffas.
This article covers the transfer of TLD domain names (com/net/biz/info/org) into and out of Saffas Web.

You have the option to transfer both parts independently
Transfer Hosting Part INTO Saffas
This is also known as 'DNS transfer' or 'nameserver change'.
If you transfer an existing domain in this way, it will only transfer the hosting part of your domain and will leave the invoice / renewal part with your existing registrar.
This is the quickest and cleanest type of transfer but be aware that some registrars do not allow you do to this type of transfer or will charge you extra fees to do it.
Check the Welcome Mail for your hosting account and find the section 'nameservers' which details the nameservers your plan is on.
Contact your registrar and give them the following instruction ...
"For my domain (change-domain.com) please change the DNS details to: ns1.XXX, ns2.XXX"
Make sure to change ns1.XXX and ns2.XXX with the nameservers in your Welcome Mail.
Some registrars provide an automated control panel from where you can make this change yourself.
If this is an addon or parked domain, remember to go to your Control Panel and add the domain in the relevant way.
If this is a brand new order, we will map the domain to your plan when we set it up.
It can take up to 48 hours for the new DNS details to take effect, after which time your new account with Saffas will be fully operational.
Saffas make no charge for this type of domain transfer however, check with your registrar because some companies do charge for this service.
Transfer Invoice / Renewal Part INTO Saffas
This is also known as 'full domain transfer'.
There is a charge for transferring the renewal rights of TLD domains which is equal to one year of domain registration fees.
If you transfer an existing domain in this way, it will transfer the invoice / renewal to Saffas. We will then be responsible for the hosting AND renewal.

When ready, click 'submit' and the resulting page will confirm whether your domains are available for transfer and what the charge is ...
If you continue, you will be taken to a page to insert the EPP Auth Code for each domain, and then onto the shopping cart overview where you can checkout if you are ready.
If you are a new client you will need to create a main account before completing your order.
If you are an existing client you will need to login to your account before proceeding with your order.
What Next
Once a domain transfer has been instructed, an email will be sent to the admin contact email address for the domain. This will be in the name of POLDINGS / ENOM and should arrive within 12 hours. It will ask you to confirm the transfer and you must follow the instructions for the transfer to proceed.
When done, the transfer will progress and should complete within 4 to 6 days. To check the progress you can login to your Billing Centre control panel and view the domain. There will be a comment of the present status of the domain and this will be updated as the domain transfer progresses.
Alternatively, check the progress use our WhoIs Lookup tool to see when it mentions something like: 'registrar services by: POLDINGS.
Please note that we cannot transfer domains that are less than 60 days old. Please wait until the domain is at least 60 days old before attempting to transfer.
Pre Transfer Checks
These domain types require an EPP authentication code before transfer can be instructed. You need to obtain this from your current registrar before starting the transfer.
Make sure you have access to the email address listed as the 'admin contact email' for the domain. Use our WhoIs Lookup tool to check.
If the email address needs to be changed, contact the existing registrar and have it changed before you instruct the domain transfer to Saffas.
Make sure your domain name has not expired and is not due to expire within the next 10 days. We need at least 10 days to complete the transfer process of these domain types.
Make sure the domain is not 'locked'. It needs to be made 'active' before we can instruct the transfer. You may need to contact your existing registrar and have them change the status from 'locked' to 'active'.
Note
We cannot transfer domains that are less than 60 days old. Please wait until the domain is at least 60 days old before attempting to transfer.
Full domain transfers add 1 year onto the domain expiry date so the charge for transfer is actually reimbursed by way of this additional time.
If the domain was reactivated from an expired state, you still pay the transfer fee but you will not get a year added to the expiry date.
Transfer Away from Saffas
If you have a TLD name registered with Saffas Web and you want to transfer it to another registrar, raise a Support Ticket with the following request ...
"I would like to transfer my domain (change-domain.com) to another registrar. Please unlock the domain and provide the EPP authorization code."
We will action your instructions within 24 hours and update the ticket when done.
