How to improve your website security.

Hotlink protection prevents other websites from directly linking to files on your website. Hotlinking is when another web site owner links directly to one or more of your images or multimedia files and includes it on their web page.
Not only is this theft of your intellectual property but also, you are paying for the bandwidth used by that site.
To overcome this, you can set the sites who have permission to access files on your site. From your Control Panel, find the link to 'hotlink protection'.
Whatever domains you list in the box provided, will have permission to link to the files on your site.
You can protect directories within your site from browsers by using a secure password. This allows you to restrict material to only authorized users or store sensitive material online.
To set up a password protected directory from your Control Panel, find the link to 'password protect directories'. You will be presented with a list of directories in your webspace. Click a directory icon to be taken to the subdirectories it holds or, click a directory name to insert your secure password.
Once done, users will need the password to access that directory through the web.
The IP Deny Manager enables you to block access to your web site from specific IP addresses. This is useful to remove nuisance surfers who use a large amount of bandwidth.
To add an IP address to the IP Deny Manager, click on the link to 'IP Deny Manager' in the home page of your Control Panel, enter the IP address that you want to block in the IP Address field, click on the Add button.
Once done, that IP will not be able to access any part of your website.
